Industry - Logging: Sawmills
Texada Heritage Society

Built to supply the mines and rapidly expanding communities on Texada Island. Pacific Lime started a sawmill in Blubber Bay in 1898, which later burned down in 1943.

Records show that in 1900 the Van Anda Sawmill (Later Carter Bros.) with a capacity of 12,000 ft. per day. These mills supplied not only Texada with lumber but also communities such as Pender Harbor, Madeira Park and Powell River.
