Texada Tapestry
November 19, 2011 was a very successful afternoon
at the Van Anda Museum where Texada Island residents braved the elements
of high winds and ferry cancellations to attend a book launch of
"Texada
Tapestry "
a history
by
Heather Harbord. Dedicating her book to long time residents and Texada
Island Heritage Society researchers Doug Paton and Peter Stiles. Heather
read passages from her book to a standing room only crowd, then for
those who wished she signed her book while others enjoyed tea and
goodies. From all of us at the Texada Island Heritage Society
we would like to thank Heather for the three years of diligent, dedicated
research and many long hours of writing to make this book a reality and
as accurate as possible to reflect Texada Island's colorful history.
